In 2016, voters overwhelmingly approved the ambitious 30-year Sound Transit 3 package. Now, Sound Transit is threatening to stop short of what voters were promised. Instead of doing the hard work to figure out more affordable ways to construct every project, the agency is considering which lines to cut.
We believe this is unacceptable. From Tacoma to Graham St to Ballard, from West Seattle to Everett, and from Issaquah to Kirkland, every part of our region deserves the high-quality mass transit that we’ve all been paying for.
